About the Image Invert tool

The Image Invert tool runs entirely in your browser. Drop or select an image, set the Intensity slider between 0% and 100%, and click Apply. The tool inverts each pixel's color channels using the formula r' = 255 - r, g' = 255 - g, b' = 255 - b. The intensity slider blends the inverted result with the original — 0% leaves the image untouched, 100% produces a full negative. Nothing is uploaded; all processing happens locally via the Canvas API.

How to use it

  1. Click the drop zone or drop an image file onto it.
  2. Drag the Intensity slider — higher values produce a stronger inversion.
  3. Click Apply to render the effect onto the image.
  4. Click Download to save, Reset to restore, or Clear to start over.

Frequently asked questions

What does the intensity slider do? 0% keeps the original image. 100% applies a full color inversion. Values in between blend the two for a partial negative effect.

What is the output format? The download is a PNG file, preserving detail without compression artifacts.

Does this tool upload my images? No. All processing happens locally in your browser. Your image never leaves your device.

Can I apply the effect multiple times? Yes. Each Apply works on the current canvas, so successive clicks compound the effect. Use Reset to return to the original.
